Pinhole Photography for Wellbeing

We delivered 10 pinhole photography workshops over 12 months at locations including Wood Green Library, Winkfield Resource Centre, Shaftesbury Hall, and All Good Bookshop. One of the highlights of the project was a camera obscura installed at Wood Green library. The workshops improved self-esteem and reduced social isolation among adult participants. 117 people participated in the workshops, 220 pinhole photographs were created.

I loved learning about the origin of photography at Pinhole London’s workshop and creating my own memory using techniques from long ago.

Inside the Camera Obscura, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing was real, it felt so peaceful. Through this tiny hole, magic unfolded as I watched live projections of people playing football and the beautiful chaos outside the library.

I enjoyed every part of the event as we were guided to learn and practice. I haven’t got enough words to describe my thanks to the team at Pinhole London.
