Team Building Activities
Looking for a unique way to boost creativity and teamwork? Pinhole London offers engaging team-building workshops focused on the art of pinhole photography. Teams collaborate to create hand-made cameras, capture images, and develop them in a pop-up darkroom, all while learning traditional photography techniques.
Workshop details:
Introduction:
We begin with an engaging introduction to the history and science of pinhole photography, including a live demonstration of the camera obscura to showcase the fundamentals of image projection.Construction:
Participants will work together to construct their own DIY pinhole cameras from upcycled aluminium cans. This stage encourages collaboration and creativity.Creation:
Using their hand-made cameras, teams will capture a unique photograph on light-sensitive paper, providing a fun challenge as they explore the basics of exposure and composition.Development:
In our pop-up darkroom, participants will develop their photographs using traditional techniques, witnessing their creations come to life through chemical processes.Exhibition:
To wrap up, we’ll hold a session where participants can share their photos as a group exhibition and view their negative images as positives, using their smartphone. They will take home their own photos and camera, and can be emailed a print ready digital copy of their photos.
Example:
Participants use LED studio lighting to create striking pinhole photographs. After developing their prints, they engage in a reflective writing exercise focused on their hopes for the future of their business. The final photographs are then showcased in a collaborative exhibition, celebrating the 5th anniversary of Tottenham Community Press (TCP)—the free, independent community newspaper.
